Highlights of "Old Towne" include the original 17th-century church tower, current excavation of James Fort, the burial ground of the first colonists, a reconstructed "mud-and-stud" cottage, the Archaearium with over 1000 artifacts on display, Confederate earthworks, and the foundation of the Third and Fourth Statehouse visible through the glass floor panels in the Archaearium.
