Glass Cullet

Glass Cullet The top layer of Pit 1 fill contained a concentration of broken glass including a number of edge pieces and some of the center "bull's eyes" waste fragments from the production of crown glass. The quantity, color, and manufacturing waste fragments are sure signs that glass did not come from broken windows at James Fort. The glass was almost certainly used in the first attempts to manufacture glass at Jamestown.
